JOB TITLE: BASKETBALL COACH

Organization:

Sevenoaks Suns Basketball Club is a leading club at the forefront of the UK's basketball scene. With a cadre of more than 12 dedicated coaches, we deliver basketball training to over 600 enthusiastic children each week. We are committed to reaching more than 1,000 community kids each week by 2027. Our focussed commitment to such community-centric objectives sets us apart. We are seeking an exceptional individual whose passion for teaching basketball is matched only by their unwavering dedication to helping kids become better citizens and teammates.

Contract & Salary:

★ Full-Time permanent position

★ Salary: £28,000 per annum

★ Performance bonus

★ 35 hours per week


Job Description:

★ Step into the spotlight as a role model and mentor, igniting a passion for basketball in young athletes and fostering their personal growth both on and off the court.

★ Craft and execute dynamic and engaging basketball training sessions that cater to various age groups and skill levels, ensuring continuous improvement and cultivating an enduring love for the game. Your innovative coaching methods will unlock hidden talents and drive the team to new heights.

★ Lead teams in intensely competitive school and club-level competitions, instilling a winning mindset, fostering teamwork, and nurturing unwavering sportsmanship, both on and off the court.

★ Collaborate with the club's administrative team, lending your knowledge to website management, social media engagement, and ensuring smooth operation during games and events. Your multifaceted contributions will ensure a valuable experience for all involved.

★ A flexible schedule will allow you to immerse yourself in the art of coaching during school hours, after school, evenings, and weekends. These flexible hours will provide generous opportunities for skill development and player progression, forging an unbreakable bond with your team.

★ Contribute your knowledge to the club’s leadership program, empowering junior members to blossom into future basketball stars and exemplary individuals. Your guidance will shape their character and lay the foundation for their success.

★ Report directly to the Director of Basketball, collaborating closely to align coaching strategies with the club's overarching objectives.


Eligibility Requirements:

★ Eligible to work in the UK (non-British applicants must have a valid visa).

★ Level 2 Coach Qualification with experience coaching all ages and abilities.

★ Current DBS check.

★ First Aid at Work qualification.

★ Own vehicle and insurance.

★ Safeguarding & Protecting Children certificate.

★ Adherence to all club policies.

★ Exhibit exceptional communication skills, allowing you to effectively connect with players, parents, and fellow coaches across various age groups and backgrounds.

★ An innovative spirit, bringing fresh and creative ideas to the table to enhance training sessions and create a dynamic and engaging learning environment.

★ Strong initiative and task management skills to identify areas for improvement, take ownership of responsibilities, and proactively contribute to the growth and success of the club.

★ Ability to plan and manage your workload effectively, ensuring a seamless balance between coaching, administrative tasks, and other club responsibilities.

★ Demonstrate reliable ICT skills, including proficiency in MS Word and Excel, enabling you to effectively communicate, organize, and document coaching plans and player progress.
