National League & Teams

The Sevenoaks Suns have one of the most successful National League programmes in England, and the largest in Kent, with more than 6 teams participating in the league. Playing in the National League requires good athleticism and a certain level of skills, depending on the age group. To join the National League Teams you should have some previous basketball experience having played in a club for a season or two. Our players come mainly from our development path or from other clubs.

Development Sessions for Beginners

Basketball is the second most popular sport in the world with a huge variety of transferable skills – and the fastest growing. According to Sports England, basketball is the second most widely played team sport in England!  Of course, basketball is hugely popular in Europe, America, Asia, and Australia. It is the best cardio conditioning activity of all team sports and often judged to be more demanding, from a cardio perspective, than rowing, swimming, and cross-country skiing.

In our development sessions, we welcome every child that wants to learn how to play basketball. These sessions are for children that have never played this fascinating sport or that have just tried it at school and want to learn more. Our development sessions help the children learn new skills and improve their athleticism. We play local games and participate in tournaments during the weekend.

When you contact us, please mention your child's school year and your location.

Sessions for children in primary schools:

  • Mondays in Tonbridge,

  • Tuesdays in Tunbridge Wells,

  • Thursday & Fridays in Sevenoaks.
