JOB VACANCY - COMMUNITY BASKETBALL COACH

We are hiring! We are looking for a full-time Community Basketball Coach with a passion for growing basketball and experience working with children and the community.

​One year contract, Full Time

£18,000 - £22,000 (depending on experience)

Plus performance bonus

35 hours a week

Job Description:

​Sevenoaks Suns is one of the fastest growing clubs in the UK. Every week, we teach basketball to more than 400 children. Our coaches are very dedicated, and we are looking for a person who is really passionate about the sport and willing to go the extra mile to help our community focused goals.


  • Acting as a role model and mentor to the young people in the club.

  • Plan and deliver a high-standard basketball training programme across a range of age-groups and ability levels.

  • Coaching teams at primary and secondary schools, local and national league competitions, tournaments and camps.

  • Supporting our leadership programme for junior members.

  • Able to travel using own transport

  • Flexibility on work schedule - Available to work during school & after school hours, evenings, and weekends.

  • Assist on other club duties, if needed (e.g. admin, website, social media, table official, referring).

  • Report to the Director of Basketball.

Eligibility

  • ​Be eligible to work in the UK (non-British applicants must have VISA before they applying)

  • Level 2 Coach Qualification with experience coaching all ages and abilities from primary school beginners to national league players.

  • Current DBS check.

  • 1st Aid at Work qualification.

  • Must have own vehicle and insurance.

  • Safeguarding & Protecting Children certificate.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • ​Coordinating and delivering a high standard of coaching.

  • Passionate about helping individuals reach their potential.

  • Proactive and motivated to work to a high standard.

  • Enthusiastic and innovative individual with excellent communication skills.

  • Ability to communicate effectively across many levels through a variety of formats.

  • Use initiative to identify and perform needed tasks.

  • Ability to plan and manage your own workload effectively.

  • Reliable ICT skills (MS Word and Excel).

Preferred Skills:

​Level 2 Referee & Table Official qualification.
