Booking

What is the price for child?

Approximately £750 plus the cost of flights. The price might be lower as it is dependant on numbers.

What is the price for adults?

The price for adults is yet to be confirmed but will be less than the child price as it doesn’t include the basketball activities but will include the cultural visits.

What is included in the price?

The price includes:

4 nights accommodation in Valencia including breakfast, lunch and dinner at the hostel or similar.
Cultural visits included: Oceanographic Science City and historic center.
Training sessions and friendly matches
Shuttle service, transfer from the airport to hostel and back.
Medical insurance during training and matches
24/7 supervision.

What are the dates of the trip?

The trip will be from Monday 28th October 2024 to Friday 1st November 2024. This might change depending on flight availability, price, etc… but will be around these dates. Exact times will be confirmed once we have confirmation of the flights.

The price said “plus flights”, how are the flights being booked and what is the cost?

The flights will be booked separately from the rest of the trip as everything else (accommodation, meals, visits, airport shuttle, etc…) is included in the price. The plan is to make a group booking with an airline or travel agent and options are currently being looked at.

When do I need to pay for the trip?

This is to be decided, however, it will be approximately 50-60% of the cost as a first payment to reserve/confirm and then the rest by the end of August.

Is travel insurance included in the price or do we need to arrange our own?

General travel insurance is not included and we would recommend you arrange for some travel insurance for yourself and make sure everyone coming has a UK Global Health Insurance Card (GHIC), which you can get for free via the NHS website:

Do parents need to accompany their child on the trip?

No, children can attend the trip on their own. Full supervision from the Suns will be provided.

How do parents book on the trip to accompany their child?

Everyone attending the trip with the Suns will book together when booking becomes available.

Are parents able to stay at the same accommodation or do they need to book separate accommodation?

Parents will stay at the same accommodation.

If parents come, will they be expected to stay with the group all the time?

No, we will have a list with suggestions for the parents (food, beach, parks, etc...)

Will parents be welcome to watch the sessions which their child is taking part in?

Yes, we believe this will be possible.

Before the trip

Which airport are they traveling from and to?
Probably Gatwick ←→ Valencia, however, this will be confirmed once we know what flights will be used.

Will transportation to the airport be provided?
Transportation to and from the airport In Spain will be provided, however, for the UK side, parents will need to get their child to and from the airport.

What items will they need to bring with them?
This will be confirmed nearer the time but will need to be within the baggage allowance of the flights.

Whilst in Valencia

What accommodation is being used?

This is still to be confirmed with the provider in Valencia, more details will follow once it has been confirmed.

Will the children be sharing rooms, if so, how many to a room and how will they be allocated?

2 to 3 children per room, however, this will be confirmed once the accommodation has been confirmed. Details on room allocations will be provided at a later date.

What is the itinerary for the trip?

This is to be confirmed, however, it will include lots of basketball and some cultural visits as well.

Which Suns staff will be going on the trip?

3 to 4 Suns coaches will be on the trip.

How much basketball is included in the trip?

Depends on the group but approximately 3 training sessions and 2 to 3 friendly games

Who will the Suns play in the friendly games?

These games will be played against local Spanish youth teams.

Are food allergies catered for by the accommodation?

This will be confirmed once the accommodation has been confirmed, however, we believe that this will be catered for without issue.

Will the children have any “spare time”?

Yes, however, they will be supervised at all times.
