Suns overcome a tough Nottingham Wildcats to move to 4-0 in WBBL League play.
Saturday in Guildford, the Suns women defeated Nottingham 80-69 behind a triple-double from Cat Carr and 7 three-pointers from Renee Busch. Cat finished with 22 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists. Newcomer Frankie Wurtz and veteran Judit Fritz also scored in double figures with 14 and 16 points respectively.
Nottingham got off to a great start and continued to play well in the first half, leading 44-42 at the break. Suns were being punished inside by Nottingham’s Kennedy Nicholas who had 12 points and outside by Brooklyn Pannell who added 14 first-half points. Suns up the defensive pressure in the second half to recapture a lead that they never relinquished as they cruised to the 80-69 victory.
