Sevenoaks Suns have confirmed the returns of European duo Judit
Fritz and Julia Koppl for the upcoming 2022-23 WBBL season.
Hungarian Fritz is amongst the all-time leaders in scoring in WBBL
history and adds more continuity for the Suns alongside Austrian
forward Koppl, who first joined the club in 2017.
“Julia has been an extremely reliable player for us, regularly doing
battle with the biggest players in the league,” said Suns head coach
Len Busch. “She’s very smart and has held her own in every game.
“Judit is a joy to have on the team. She just loves playing basketball.
She gives us a real veteran presence having played in the WBBL
almost every season since its inception. She is deceptively long and
can score a lot of different ways.”
They have both played major roles in the club’s success in the WBBL
and their experience will be vital for the Suns this season as they
join Renee Busch as the first confirmed returnees.
Fritz averaged 10.1 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 19
league games for the Suns last season with Koppl putting up equally
solid numbers with 9.5 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists per
game across 24 appearances.
