Suns are back in the WBBL Cup Final

On February 12th, the Suns WBBL team will play in the National Cup Final for the third year in a row. They will defend last year’s title against the Leicester Riders in a game that will be televised live on Sky Sports and Sky Sports YouTube. The telecast begins at 5 pm with tip set for 5:30 pm.

The game will mark the Suns first game since mid-December as they had paused their season amid COVID concerns. Changes to the Suns housing arrangements and a new WBBL testing regime have enabled the team to resume the season.

The game will be the fifth time in recent years that the Suns and Riders have met in National Finals. The Suns have won three out of the four previous finals to date. Suns Head coach, Len Busch had this to say: “We are thrilled to be getting back to basketball starting with the Cup Final. Riders have been our biggest rival over the past 5 years and facing them again should be a good show. Playing on Sky is a good chance to showcase our League and our team. The more viewers the better. We have to show that basketball is a good draw for TV.”

The Cup Final will be live on Sky Sports and Sky Sports YouTube with coverage starting at 5 pm GMT, with tip-off at 5:30.
