Another way to raise funds is through smaller scale events such as cake sales, coffee mornings and second hand uniform sales. Take a look at our Easyfundraising drop down above for other ways to contribute to the club or contact:

GET INVOLVED WITH THE SUNS
Volunteers are the lifeblood of any club.
Initiatives within the wider community
As part of our vision to develop the awareness and participation in basketball in the South East, Sevenoaks Suns run a series of initiatives within the wider community in an effort to make the second most popular sport in the world accessible for every child.
Suns currently run several development sessions open to all ages, genders and abilities:
Tuesday evenings in Tunbridge Wells
Wednesday, Thursday & Friday evenings in Sevenoaks
Saturday mornings in Sevenoaks
We also run both curricular and extra-curricular programmes at primary and secondary schools. Current schools involved in this programme include Tunbridge Wells Grammar School for boys, The Skinners’ School, The Weald of Kent Grammar and Knole Academy.
We are actively looking to enhance our relationships with local schools and are able to offer visits from our WBBL team (current National Champions) as a tool to motivate children into being more active.
Primary School Tournaments
At least twice a year we support a primary schools tournament open to any primary school wishing to take part. We also organise a monthly tournament for primary school-aged children on a Saturday.
During the school holidays we run Basketball Camps where children of all abilities can come and benefit from the coaching of our Professional coaches with vast experience in the sport and youth development including the WBBL Coach of the year Len Busch. The children will be taken through their paces, stretching their abilities and getting the best out of them as a person and a team player.
If you are keen to find out more about any of these community programmes, please get in touch.
Sevenoaks Suns Basketball Club has found a great way to raise money for free, simply by shopping online through a website called easyfundraising (www.easyfundraising.org.uk).
Whenever you buy anything online (from groceries to clothes, books, train tickets, and hotel rooms, etc.) you can raise a free donation for your club. There are over 2,700 retailers registered with the site, including Amazon, John Lewis, eBay, and Tesco who will donate a percentage of what you spend to Sevenoaks Suns to say thank you for shopping with them.
Here’s how it works:
1. Sign up - Go to the Easy Fundraising website and click on the button to sign up:
2. Shop - From the Easy Fundraising website, search for the retailer you’d like to shop with and click through to the retailer to make your purchase. This tells the retailer you came from Easy Fundraising. The price is exactly the same as if you’d visited the retailer directly.
3. Get a donation - after you’ve made your purchase, the retailer will give you a cash reward that easyfundraising turn into a donation for Sevenoaks Suns.
Please be assured that using the easyfundraising website will not cost you a penny. There are no catches or hidden charges and we benefit from any donations you make once registered. Thank you for your support.
